Job summary

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. is seeking a Document Control Student for our Ottawa district in the Canadian Buildings sector. This 4-month assignment starting January 2027 offers hands-on experience with filing, drawing coordination and project documentation in a real construction environment.

You will gain exposure to change management, procurement support, and cross-functional teamwork, while developing skills through mentorship and college-level construction programs.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree or diploma in a civil engineering related field.
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to adapt in a fast-changing environment.
• Assets include experience with data entry and document management.

Responsibilities

• File and manage project documents electronically and on project websites (PDC).
• Maintain a document control log and records of filings.
• Prepare cover letters and documentation for distribution to staff and subcontractors.
• Link construction drawings to consultants and distribute change communications.
• Coordinate, markup and update drawings and scopes of work.
• Assist with procurement program activities and project trades coordination.
• Document SI’s, RFIs and change orders for the site.
• Review and edit project documentation; support ad hoc tasks.
