Job summary

BBA Consultants invites a Document Control Officer to join our Vancouver-based team, supporting major engineering projects with rigorous document management. You will control, file, track, update and distribute project documents while ensuring compliance with project processes and requirements.

You will collaborate with project leaders, engineers and stakeholders to maintain quality and traceability of documents throughout project lifecycles in a flexible mix of office and remote work.

Qualifications

• Three years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of electronic documents and document management systems.
• Advanced English skills for collaboration with offices and clients.
• Advanced French skills to work with Québec teams.
• Experience in engineering document management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Monitor document quality and ensure proper saving of engineering documents.
• Save client and supplier documents in firm systems.
• Ensure document control procedures are followed consistently.
• Verify consistency of document transmittals.
• Distribute client documents to teams per distribution lists.
• Update documents on collaboration platforms (Bluebeam, SharePoint, BIM360).
• Scan documents and create electronic files with Adobe Acrobat.

Your future role on our team

JoinBBA and help deliver large-scale engineering projects. As a document controlofficer, you'll play a key role in several major projects and work withpassionate, multidisciplinary teams.

You’ll use your rigour, organizational skills and attention to detail every day to ensure efficient, well-structured document management. You’ll help control,file, track, update and distribute project documents while ensuring compliancewith project-specific processes, standards and requirements.

You’ll work closely with project leaders, engineers, professionals and otherstakeholders to support the flow of information and help maintain the qualityand traceability of documentation throughout project life cycles.

Summary of certifications and job requirements

• College diploma or relevant and transferable experience, ideally in document management
• At least three years of relevant experience
• Detailed knowledge of electronic documents, document management systems and database query methodology and architecture
• Ability to work in a modern database environment
• Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects
• Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
• Asset: knowledge and experience in all areas of document management in an engineering environment
