Job summary

Manitoulin Transport is hiring for a forklift/docks role in Canada. The position involves loading and unloading freight, using handheld devices for tracking, cube/weight freight with a Dimensioner, and assisting drivers on the dock.

Requires 2+ years forklift experience and ability to lift 50 lbs; cross-dock experience preferred. Competitive wages with step increases after 3 and 12 months, plus benefits and a profit-sharing program.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of forklift experience.
• Able to lift 50 lbs and work under pressure with tight deadlines.
• Cross-dock experience preferred.
• Able to multitask and manage various tasks successfully.
• Developed problem-solving, critical thinking, decision-making, and judgment skills.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload different types of freight from/to different trailers or stage it on the dock using our electronic handheld device.
• Housekeeping duties.
• Use handheld device to note any exceptions - shortages/overages/damages/no bills.
• Cube and/or reweigh freight as necessary using Dimensioner machine or manually when required.
• Assist co-workers and drivers in loading, unloading or finding freight.
• Start heaters, placard trailers as required.
• Load freight in specified sequence for maximum usage of trailer space and take pictures per procedure.
• Other duties may be assigned.
