Purpose

Within the assigned district: grow the business profitably by expanding existing customer relationships and acquiring new customers; contribute to Lawson's management strength through effective business and territory management.

Responsibilities
Manage the business
  • Oversee district profit & loss
  • Support corporate initiatives
  • Drive industry vertical segmentation focus
  • Achieve sales growth
  • Implement corporate strategies
Develop the district
  • Manage on-list sales representatives
  • Collaborate on account sales plans and new business development
  • Bridge corporate goals and team perceptions
  • Educate and coach representatives
  • Lead district meetings
Manage the territory
  • Build Lawson’s presence in the district
  • Manage prospective customer sales
  • Handle at-risk accounts
  • Conduct field visits
  • Sell to strategic accounts
  • Create sales plans and set goals
  • Forecast performance
  • Build relationships with key customers and prospects
Time Allocation
  • 30%: Developing veteran sales reps
  • 25%: Developing new reps
  • 15%: Major account development
  • 10%: Administration and planning
  • 10%: Sales activities and problem-solving
  • 5%: Conducting meetings and seminars
  • 5%: Developing sales channels
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma + 3-5 years sales management experience
  • Knowledge of products, pricing, and market competitors
  • Proven ability to run a profitable district
  • Strong analytical, motivational, coaching, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of hiring and onboarding procedures
  • Capable with computer skills
  • Strong ethics
