Job description

BC Clinical & Support Services

Vancouver, BC

Under general supervision, the incumbent is responsible for transporting supplies and materials within the facility using a tow motor, pallet jack, or by manual methods. Responsibilities include loading, delivering, and distributing items such as perishables, valuable goods, requisitions, mail, equipment, and pharmacy items across hospital departments.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operate equipment like power pallet jacks and tow motors to transport supplies, ensuring proper loading, securing, and delivery to designated areas.
2. Handle special deliveries including perishables and valuable items, obtaining necessary signatures and documentation.
3. Pick up and deliver items such as requisitions, mail, and equipment throughout the hospital.
4. Operate garbage compactors and manage linen exchanges as per site-specific duties.
5. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Grade 10 education or equivalent, with relevant experience.
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license required.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Physical ability to perform job duties.
• Ability to operate related equipment and organize work efficiently.
