Job summary

McDougall Energy is seeking a dedicated Dispatcher to join our Chatham team. You will coordinate deliveries, optimize routes, and communicate with drivers and customers to ensure timely service and safety compliance.

Ideal candidates bring dispatch or logistics experience in Southwestern Ontario, strong communication and computer skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Training provided.

Qualifications

• Dispatch and logistics experience in a professional setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organization and time management with ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and dispatch deliveries to maximize efficiency and equipment use.
• Provide directions to drivers regarding routes and customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot repairs and truck maintenance with Operations Manager or Lead Hands.
• Generate daily, weekly and monthly reporting as required.
• Communicate with customers about delivery requirements, schedule changes, and issues.
• Adhere to health and safety policies, SOPs and industry regulations.
• Perform other office administration duties as required.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

McDougall Energy is looking for a Dispatcher to join our Chatham team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for:

• Planning, organizing and dispatching all deliveries to maximize efficiencies and optimize equipment utilization
• Providing directions to drivers regarding routes and customer requirements
• Working with the Operations Manager and / or Lead Hands to troubleshoot repairs and truck maintenance
• Generating daily, weekly and monthly reporting as required
• Communicating and interfacing with customers regarding delivery requirements, changes to schedules and any other issues regarding their delivery
• Adhering to all company health and safety policies, standard operating procedures and established industry regulations
• Performing other office administration duties as required

ABOUT YOU:

The ideal candidate will have:

• Dispatch and logistics experience along with geographical knowledge of Southwestern Ontario
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Knowledge of TSSA, WHMIS & TDG requirements is considered an asset
• Working knowledge of the fuel and propane delivery industries’ practices and processes considered an asset
• DZ license considered an asset
