Job summary

Unifi Aviation Canada, Inc. seeks reliable ramp personnel to join our growing team.

You will assign ramp teams to gates for loading, unloading and sorting baggage, manage bagroom operations, and allocate equipment and supplies to support efficient aircraft handling. We offer flight privileges after 30 days for employees and eligible family members, bi-weekly pay with daily access to earned wages, and two weeks of paid time off plus statutory holidays.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Ability to obtain a fully cleared Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC).
• Ability to obtain YYC D/A AVOP credential.

Responsibilities

• Daily allocation and management of ramp and bagroom operations, including aircraft movement, loading, baggage handling, and cargo operations.
• Marshal arriving, departing, and towed aircraft on the ramp.
• Allocate, track, and sign out equipment and supplies used for ground handling.
• Load, unload, sort and transfer passenger baggage, airmail, freight and company materials to/from aircraft bins and baggage carts.
• Provide coaching and feedback on equipment use and task assignments to team members.
• Create and update crew planners and coordinate with airline partners for safe, on-time operations.

Job Summary:

Job Duties:

• Daily allocation and management of ramp and bagroom operations, including aircraft movement and loading, baggage movement, towing, and cargo operations. Marshal the aircraft on the ramp all arriving, departing and towed aircraft .
• Allocate, track and sign out equipment and supplies. Load, unload, sort and transfer passenger baggage, airmail, freight and company material in and out of aircraft bins, belt loaders or baggage carts.
• Conduct coaching and follow-up as it relates to equipment usage and task assignments.
• Allocate ground service equipment
• Monitor aircraft movements to identify potential issues and proactively develop solutions balancing our airline partner’s needs with our equipment, ground time, etc. to mitigate the impacts of off-schedule operations on our guests and our KPIs.
• Collaborate with our airline partners in their control center, to ensure the best decisions are being made for safety and performance.
• Monitors and enforces safe working conditions in accordance with regulatory requirements, Unifi policies and safety procedures, and all applicable laws.
• Promotes and adheres to policies concerning Safety, Anti-Harassment and Equal Employment Opportunity.
• Perform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill , experience and, capabilities expected for this position.
• Perform minor repairs to tools.
• Responsible for ensuring direction is provided with challenges impacting baggage movement such as, but not limited to; baggage scanning, flight hold decisions, chargeback analysis, BIWIS operations, baggage recall, disputes, and delays.
• Participate in staff briefings with the Airport's team at the start of every shift, outlining any challenges and opportunities.
• Communicate operational performance feedback to the airline's management team and provide solutions to facilitate effective solutions.
• Monitor future flights to look for potential issues and develop solutions and adjustments with special emphasis on delayed inbound and outbound bags with decisions made towards guests, staffing, equipment needs, available ground time, etc.
• Provide operational feedback to the Duty Manager team regarding staffing opportunities.
• Create and update crew planners.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma , GED or equivalent education.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to obtain a fully cleared Restricted Area Identification Card.
• Must be able to obtain a YYC D/A AVOP.
• Possess a valid Driver’s License .

Preferred Qualifications:

• One + year s of relevant work experience in the aviation or ground handling industry.
• Proficient in PC based applications, task allocation software, inventory control software.

Physical requirements :

• Must be able to frequently l ift , greater than 70lbs a nd constantly lift up to 70 lbs; Constantly p ush , p ull up to 70 lbs; and constantly w alk , s tand, r each a bove s houlder, c limb , c rawl, s toop, s quat, k neel, & b end.

Working conditions:

• Must be able to work in rotating shifts and hours, nights, weekends and holidays, overtime.
• Must be able and open to work in outside weather conditions which may include severe seasonal elements .
