Job summary

Charger Logistics is seeking a motivated dispatch specialist in Calgary to coordinate inbound and outbound freight while meeting daily priorities. You will build strong relationships with customers, brokers, and carriers to ensure reliable service and profitability.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year in trucking/dispatch and a background in supply chain management, with solid MS Office skills and geographic knowledge of North America.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of trucking/dispatch experience.
• Educational background in Supply Chain Management or related area.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Knowledge of North American geography is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound and outbound freight to meet daily priorities.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, brokers, and carriers.
• Negotiate rates with customers and third-party carriers.
• Resolve pricing, service, and documentation discrepancies.
• Track shipments and ensure timely, transparent communication.
• Verify shipping and customs documents such as PODs and BOL.

We are currently expanding and looking to add a motivated individual to our team based out of our Calgary office.

Available Shifts: Morning/Afternoon/Nights

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, coordinating inbound and outbound freight to meet daily priorities and weekly transportation targets while ensuring a high level of service.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, brokers, and carriers to proactively address service risks, resolve issues, and ensure timely, transparent communication.
• Analyze lane data, on-time performance and costs to effectively negotiate rates with customers and third-party carriers to ensure profitability and customer satisfaction
• Communicate with customers, brokers, and carriers to resolve discrepancies related to pricing, service levels, delivery schedules, and documentation.
• Direct and organize logistics activities such as obtaining shipment rates, negotiating with logistics service providers, selecting 3PL partners, tracking and expediting shipments, and solving any discrepancy of quality, quantity, and schedule.
• Verify and troubleshoot any issues in shipping or customs documentation including, but not limited to, PODs, BOL and carrier confirmation.
• Proactively communicate service risks to customers to provide proper resolution

Requirements

• Minimum 1 years of experience in trucking industry and/or dispatch experience(managing time sensitive shipment
• Educational background in Supply Chain Management (or other relevant area such as Business)
• Dedicated experience providing customer service in a similar work environment
• Knowledge of the transportation industry and North American geography are considered assets.
• Positive attitude with good people skills.
• Good command of MS Office (Excel and Word) with an ability to quickly learn new software.
