Job summary

The Chelsea Hotel, Toronto is seeking a dedicated dishwasher to support our busy culinary team in a fast-paced hotel kitchen.

You will clean and store dishes, assist with maintaining a clean work area, and follow safety regulations. Experience is an asset but not required; strong teamwork and dependability are valued. This on-site role offers a collaborative environment and opportunities to learn food Bev operations.

Purpose

Dishwashers clean and store dishes, glassware and silverware used by food and beverage.

Principal Responsibilities

• Clean dishes according to Standards.
• Cleans and organizes equipment and work area.
• Control usage of store supplies.
• Notify Supervisor of damage to or problems with equipment.
• Control the use of dishwashing equipment, feed detergents and checks temperature controls
• Safe and effective use of equipment.
• Adhere to and comply with all safety regulations when handling hazardous materials according to MSDS.
• Be fully aware of Fire and Emergency Procedure and your role therein.
• Follow Chelsea grooming policy. Name Tag must be visible at all times.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by Management.

• Service given should meet and/or exceed the guest service standards of the Chelsea Hotel.

Customer Satisfaction

• Answer any guest or employee questions or direct them to someone that can assist them. Ensure complete guest satisfaction.

Process Improvement/ Productivity

• Open communication with Managers to report challenges or issues.
• All tasks are to be completed in accordance with the practices and policies of the Chelsea Hotel.

Academic and Working Qualifications

Working Experience

• Previous dishwashing or stewarding experience an asset

• Be able to work effectively on a team.

• Able to speak English.

Physical Requirements

• Able to bend, lift, and push
• Able to work in a humid and warm environment
