Job summary

Dakota Dunes Resort is seeking a friendly Dishwasher to support our back-of-house by keeping dishes, glassware, and utensils clean and ready for service. You will handle dishwashers, assist with kitchen tasks, and ensure sanitation standards are met during busy evenings and weekends.

The role requires flexibility in hours and a commitment to safety standards, including WHMIS and Safe Food Handling. Prior kitchen experience is helpful but not required, with training provided on site.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a dishwasher, kitchen helper, or in hospitality is asset but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to cleanliness and sanitation.
• Ability to follow instructions and establish procedures.
• SIRS certification is preferred.
• Safe Food Handling Certification is an asset.
• WHMIS certification is preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate dishwashing equipment safely and maintain wash/rinse temperatures and chemical levels.
• Wash, sanitize, inspect, sort, and store dishes, glassware, cutlery, cookware, utensils, and equipment.
• Maintain steady dish flow during service and communicate shortages or breakage promptly.
• Clean floors, drains, mats, walls, equipment exteriors, waste areas, and kitchen spaces.
• Remove garbage, compost, recycling, and other waste per procedures.
• Restock clean serviceware and kitchen supplies in designated areas.
• Support kitchen cleaning, receiving, and basic operational tasks.
• Follow food safety, WHMIS, chemical handling, PPE, slip prevention, lifting, and safety procedures.
• Keep wet floors and work areas controlled and marked to prevent accidents.
• Report broken equipment, leaks, pest concerns, damaged serviceware, and hazards immediately.
• Maintain chemical storage and dilution systems per procedures.
• Assist with setup, organization of serviceware, kitchen deep cleaning, and stocking.
• Support culinary and service teams with urgency and professionalism during peak periods.
• Protect quality and appearance of guest-facing serviceware through careful handling.
• Contribute to a respectful, organized, and reliable back-of-house environment.

Position Overview

The Dishwashermaintains thecleanliness and sanitation of dishes, glassware, utensils, kitchen equipment,and culinary work areas to support safe and efficient food and beverageoperations.
