SSP Canada, operating at Calgary International Airport, is seeking a Utility to help keep our restaurants clean and safe for guests and team members. You will perform cleaning, stocking, and sanitation tasks across dining and kitchen areas.

Ideal candidates have at least 6 months in retail or food service, strong English communication, and the ability to stand for long periods. We value reliability and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience in retail or food service.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Must read, speak and understand English.

Responsabilités

• Create a positive guest experience by cleaning and maintaining hygienic work areas.
• Maintain the cleanliness of all surfaces and equipment (floors, walls, counters, etc.).
• Removes refuse to designated areas.
• Clear and reset tables and transport service-ware for cleaning.
• Scrape and wash dishes by hand or in dishwasher and store properly.
• Clean equipment using chemicals to meet sanitary standards.
• Assist guests with requests and communicate needs to staff.
• Stock, date, rotate, and check the temperature of food items.
• Other duties as assigned.

SSP Canada operates several restaurants throughout the Calgary International Airport: Belgian Beer Cafe, Bistro on the Bow, The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck, Stack & Press, Bad Egg, and our newest locations Wander by Chef Nicole Gomes and Mi Casa!

Our Utility positions at SSP have the very important role of keeping our restaurants and units clean and sanitized for both our guests and our team.

Here are a few things you can expect as a Utility at SSP Canada:

• Create a positive guest experience by cleaning and maintaining hygienic work areas
• Maintain the cleanliness of all surfaces and equipment (i.e., floors, ceiling tiles, walls, windows, worktables, hoods, vents, grills, refrigerators, service counters, storage areas, etc.)
• Removes refuse to designated areas.
• Clear and reset tables in dining areas between seatings, as needed and transports service-ware to the kitchen for cleaning
• Scrape food from dirty dishes, pots, and pans and wash them by hand or load dishwasher and return them to their proper storage place.
• Clean equipment using specific chemicals to meet sanitary standards; may include the use of heavy equipment
• Assist all guests with specific requests and communicate special needs to server/supervisor
• Stock, date, rotate, and check the temperature of food items
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Other Requirements

• Minimum 6 monthsexperience working in retail or food service environment
• High school diploma preferred
• Verbal and written communication
• Must be able to read, speak, and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests and receive instructions
• Food handlers permit, as required by law
• Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods of time
