Job summary

ABC Head Start Society in Edmonton, Canada seeks an Early Learning Teacher – Discovery Stream to blend in-class instruction for 3–5-year-olds with home/community visits. You’ll implement individualized learning plans, support families, and handle documentation, planning, and meetings to ensure coordinated delivery.

Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, you’ll use play-based strategies and trauma-informed approaches, hold strong communication, and meet the Must-Haves: ECE degree, Alberta

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in education with Early Childhood specialization.
• Alberta Education Teaching Certificate in good standing.
• Experience with children who have complex needs or developmental delays.
• Experience providing family-centered support in home/community settings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build trust.
• Commitment to Safe Management practices and trauma-informed approaches.

Responsibilities

• Lead play-based, inclusive instruction for 3–5-year-olds.
• Support families through individualized learning plans and strategies.
• Collaborate with Speech-Language Pathologist, Behavioral Consultant, and Occupational Therapist.
• Document program planning and progress; participate in meetings for coordination.
• Connect families with ABC’s community resources and supports.
