Job summary

Canada Life in Regina, SK or Langley, BC is seeking a Disability Claims Administrator for a permanent full-time, hybrid role. You will work remotely with two in-office days per week to collaborate with colleagues and support clients across Canada.

Responsibilities include calculating disability benefits, handling new and ongoing claims, explaining benefit calculations to customers, and performing related data verification.

Responsibilities

• For new claims, complete the financial information including the initial benefit calculation, the DLR and waiver reserve set up.
• Calculate and issue short-term and long-term disability benefit payments.
• Perform straightforward LTD benefit calculations including inflation protection, cost of living increases, rehabilitation, and partial period calculations.
• Perform straightforward under/overpayment calculations, follow up for repayment, processing refunds and adjustments.
• Explain benefit calculations and payments, including tax issues to customers over the phone or in writing.
• Follow-up CPP.
• For maintenance of long-term disability claims, request and assess medical updates, verify other income calculations, and follow ups as required.
• Other administrative and financial duties in support of claims teams as required.
• Handling data verification and exception reports to resolve system discrepancies.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Disability Claims Administrator to join our Regina, SK or Langley, BC office. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working remotely while requiring in-office presence two days per week to collaborate with colleagues and support our clients effectively. What you will do:

• For new claims, complete the financial information including the initial benefit calculation, the DLR and waiver reserve set up
• Calculate and issue short-term and long-term disability benefit payments
• Perform straight forward LTD benefit calculations including inflation protection, cost of living increases, rehabilitation, and partial period calculations in accordance with contractual provisions
• Perform straight forward under/overpayment calculations, follow up for repayment, processing BEN refunds and adjustments
• Explain benefit calculations and payments, including tax issues to customers over the phone or in writing
• Follow-up CPP
• For maintenance of long-term disability claims, request and assess medical updates, verify other income calculations, and follow ups as required
• Other administrative and financial duties in support of claims teams as required
• Handling data verification and exception reports to resolve system discrepancies

• Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. This is a personal security status that is required as a condition of employment before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website. The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life.

The base salary for this position is between $41,200 - $58,600 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
