Job description

Allied is seeking a Director, Technical Services to join our team in Vancouver.

In this role, you will lead the Technical Services team, overseeing building operations, energy management and capital projects across our Vancouver portfolio. You will establish and implement best practices to ensure our properties operate efficiently, sustainably and in alignment with Allied's standards of excellence.

What will you do?
  • Oversee operational excellence across a diverse portfolio, ensuring each asset meets performance, compliance and tenant satisfaction goals.
  • Coach, mentor and develop a high-performing team of Supervisors and Building Operators.
  • Contribute to annual corporate planning with insights on asset health, risk mitigation, and long-range building investments.
  • Ensure cross-functional collaboration with Portfolio Operations, Construction and Leasing teams.
  • Contribute to National objectives and ensure regional alignment.
Building Operations & Systems
  • Ensure efficient day-to-day building performance, supported by robust preventive maintenance and inspection programs.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to drive continuous improvement and align with national operational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and health and safety regulations.
Capital Planning & Procurement
  • Lead the development of capital budgets and support feasibility studies, lifecycle cost analysis, and energy performance planning.
  • Oversee vendor selection, contract management, and RFP processes in accordance with Allied’s national procurement standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with service providers to ensure consistent quality and accountability.
Risk, Safety & Compliance
  • Develop and maintain business continuity protocols and emergency response strategies.
  • Support and participate in Joint Health & Safety Committee activities.
  • Provide leadership in mechanical and electrical systems troubleshooting and guide the team through issue resolution.
  • Provide leadership and assistance with emergencies, support troubleshooting and escalation of repairs.
  • Manage and enforce Business Continuity Plans.
Technology & Innovation
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement advanced building systems, automation technologies, and smart building applications.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to drive operational efficiency and enhance tenant experience through innovative digital tools.

$135,000 - $170,000 a year
Individual pay is determined by work location and other factors, including relevant experience, education/training and internal equity.
