Supply Ontario is seeking a strategic and results-oriented leader to oversee Supply and Demand Planning and Inventory Operations for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Critical Supplies and Equipment (CSE) that support public sector customers across Ontario.

In this role, you will lead the planning, management, and distribution of strategic inventory, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of critical supplies in alignment with Supply Ontario’s supply chain and inventory management strategies. You will provide expert end-to-end supply chain leadership, balancing customer needs with operational priorities to optimize inventory availability, distribution, and overall supply chain performance.

Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, you will drive continuous improvement initiatives, support change management activities, and provide strategic advice to enhance supply chain operations. You will also lead and develop a high-performing team responsible for delivering end-to-end supply chain solutions.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Lead Supply and Demand Planning and Stockpile Inventory Operations, ensuring alignment with Supply Ontario’s strategic objectives, performance measures, quality requirements, operating procedures, and industry best practices.
• Oversee province-wide inventory operations, including inbound logistics, warehousing, storage, distribution, replenishment, lifecycle management, stock rotation, and expiration management, while working closely with the sourcing team to forecast and plan future demand.
• Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and other service partners to ensure effective service delivery, inventory control, and compliance with contractual obligations, service levels, and inventory management practices, including cycle counts and inventory variance resolution.
• Collaborate with Supply Ontario’s Quality team and service providers to ensure compliance with Medical Device Establishment Licence (MDEL) requirements, standard operating procedures, and quality assurance standards across the end-to-end supply chain.
• Lead the development and implementation of supply chain frameworks, strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives that advance operational excellence, innovation, process optimization, and sustainable business outcomes across the Strategic Inventory Program.
• Develop and execute communication, engagement, and change management strategies that support the successful implementation and adoption of supply chain and distribution process improvements.
• Contribute as a member of the senior leadership team by supporting strategic planning, policy and program development, operational decision-making, audit activities, and the execution of organizational priorities.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team by overseeing recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee development, and employee relations, while fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and service-focused culture.
• Work with the Vice President to support operational planning, risk management, performance measurement, reporting, and evaluation of program effectiveness and impacts.
• Foster collaboration across Strategic Inventory Program teams to optimize resources, prioritize initiatives, drive organizational change, and deliver innovative, sustainable solutions that strengthen Ontario’s critical supply network.

Successful candidates will demonstrate the following:

• Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• 8 years’ progressive experience in supervisory, management and leadership roles.
• Hands-on experience developing and implementing change management strategies, frameworks, and deliverables (communications plans, training plans, resistance management plans).
• Strong people leadership and team management skills, with a demonstrated ability to motivate, develop, and empower leaders and teams to achieve organizational objectives.
• Experience leading complex projects from planning through execution, implementation, and close-out.Demonstrated ability to develop and implement operational strategies that drive efficiency, effectiveness, and operational excellence.
• Exceptional relationship-building skills.
• Strong influencing, negotiation, and decision-making skills, with a track record of achieving impactful results in complex environments.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organization and collaborate with diverse stakeholder groups.
• Knowledge of distribution management principles, methodologies, best practices, tools, and techniques, including supply chain optimization and inventory management.
• Experience leading change management initiatives, organizational readiness assessments, and large-scale operational transformation projects.
• Familiarity with Health Canada’s Medical Device Regulations and quality management requirements related to medical devices and critical supplies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strategic thinking skills, with the ability to balance operational priorities, long-term planning, and stakeholder needs in a complex environment.
