What you'll be doing

As a member of CIBC’s Capital Markets Technology team, the Director, Project Management, is a seasoned professional in leadership and coaching responsible for providing application delivery services, undertaking new initiatives, and delivering on key payments applications. The role applies leadership skills and technical expertise to manage and support large applications daily, lead internal change initiatives, and ensure operational excellence. The Director manages relationships with internal partners, maintains business communications, and oversees application and infrastructure operations in production, adhering to standards and governance. The role also drives innovation and applies interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

How you'll succeed

• Delivery Focused – Collaborate with internal partners to plan, negotiate, and manage projects within timelines. Monitor finances, identify improvement opportunities, and implement projects efficiently, ensuring high quality, low cost, and on budget.
• People Leadership – Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
• Relationship Management – Work closely with project teams, stakeholders, and business partners to develop and implement application programs, advising on technology implementation.
• Financial Management – Manage financials of the portfolio and report to senior leadership.
• Solution Creation – Lead and coordinate solution design, ensuring alignment across workstreams.

Who you are

• Experience: 5+ years in project delivery or management, with at least 4 years in people leadership. Experience in stakeholder management, integration projects, and a technical background is preferred. Capital Markets experience is a plus.
• Skills: Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
