What you'll be doing

As a member of CIBC’s Capital Markets Technology team, the Director, Project Management, is a seasoned professional responsible for providing application delivery services, undertaking new initiatives, and delivering on key payments applications. The role applies leadership skills and technical expertise to manage large, critical applications daily, lead internal change initiatives, and support ongoing operations in line with operational standards and vendor governance. The role also drives innovation across responsibilities, utilizing interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.

We offer a flexible hybrid work environment, with 2-4 days on-site per week, and the rest remote.

How you'll succeed
  1. Delivery Focused – Collaborate with internal partners to manage projects within agreed timelines, monitor finances, and ensure high-quality, cost-effective project delivery.
  2. People Leadership – Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team, fostering knowledge sharing and collaborative problem-solving.
  3. Relationship Management – Work closely with project teams, executives, and stakeholders to develop and implement application programs, advising on technology implementation.
  4. Financial Management – Manage financials of the portfolio and present updates to senior leadership.
  5. Solution Creation – Lead and coordinate solution design, ensuring alignment across multiple workstreams.
Who you are
  • Experience in end-to-end project delivery and management (5+ years) and at least 4 years in a leadership role, with a background in stakeholder relationships, integration projects, and architecture. Experience in Capital Markets and technical background is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership qualities: authentic, coaching-oriented, and results-driven, with experience leading diverse teams.
  • Adaptable and open to change, committed to continuous improvement.
  • Collaborative mindset, valuing teamwork and inclusivity.
