Job summary

London InterCommunity Health Centre seeks a Director; Primary Healthcare to provide strategic leadership and oversight for LIHC's primary care services across multiple sites, aligning with the community health centre model, mission, priorities, and funder requirements.

The Director will work with the Associate Executive Director and Clinical Advisor to integrate services, champion quality improvement, and guide clinical operations while representing LIHC on health system partnerships and Ontario

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in health administration, public health, public administration, or related field preferred; undergraduate degree with extensive experience may be considered.
• 3-5 years progressive leadership in healthcare, including experience managing supervisors, managers, or equivalent leadership roles.
• Significant experience in primary care, community health, or ambulatory care settings strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with interdisciplinary team leadership and clinical operations.
• Experience with strategic planning, program development, and organizational change.
• Budget management experience with demonstrated fiscal accountability.
• Experience with quality improvement methodologies and clinical governance.

Job description

The Director; Primary Healthcare provides strategic leadership and oversight for LIHC's primary care services, ensuring alignment with the Community Health Centre model of care, organizational mission, strategic priorities, and funder requirements. As the sole Director and a key member of the Senior Leadership Council, the Director oversees clinical operations for a multi-site, multi-disciplinary primary healthcare organization with an approximate $15 million annual budget; contributing to organization-wide planning, policy development, and decision-making while maintaining accountability for clinical service quality, staff development, and fiscal responsibility.

Working closely with the Associate Executive Director and Clinical Advisor, the Director ensures effective integration of clinical services across sites, champions continuous quality improvement, and provides leadership to interdisciplinary primary care teams. The Director represents the Health Centre externally on strategic tables related to primary care, Ontario Health Team partnerships, and health system integration.

Required Qualifications & Experience

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

• Registration with a relevant regulatory college (e.g., College of Nurses Ontario, Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers) is a strong asset
• Canadian Health Executive (CHE) designation or equivalent leadership certification an asset
• Deep understanding of the Model of Health and Wellbeing, primary care delivery, and the Ontario healthcare system
• Advanced knowledge of health equity, social determinants of health, and trauma-informed approaches
• Strategic thinking with ability to translate vision into operational plans
• Sophisticated interpersonal and communication skills across diverse audiences including clinical staff, physicians, and system partners
• Political acuity and systems thinking; ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and anti-oppressive practice
• Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement, and risk management
• Proficiency with electronic health records, data analytics, and health information systems
• French and other language skills are considered an asset in supporting the communities we serve

The Compensation Package

• A starting annual salary range of $106,400 - $113,700
• 100% employer-paid health and dental benefits after 3 months; enhanced benefits after 2 years of service
• Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)
• Paid sick and personal time, plus vacation time even in your first year
• Paid professional development time and funds after 12 months of service
• Monday-Friday working hours with occasional evening and weekend requirements
