Job summary

Maple, a leading Canadian on-demand healthcare platform, seeks a Director of Platform Engineering in a hybrid Toronto setting. You’ll build a new platform team serving fellow engineers, owning the end-to-end developer experience—from CI/CD to AI tooling—while partnering with the VP of Engineering and CTO.

This role emphasizes rapid, safe delivery and scalable architecture to support Maple’s growth. You’ll define a platform roadmap, publish internal roadmaps, and drive metrics with a focus on

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading engineering teams, including platform or developer experience.
• Director-level operating experience with multi-domain roadmaps.
• Proven track record treating platform as a product with internal customers.
• Strong CI/CD, deployment pipelines, and cloud infrastructure knowledge (AWS).
• Expertise in observability, incident management, and quality engineering.
• Hands-on with AI-assisted development tooling and related tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own platform engineering mandate end-to-end: dev environment, CI/CD, tests, and AI tooling.
• Publish platform roadmap, run developer surveys, and prioritize based on data.
• Drive engineering metrics with baselines and a clear roadmap.
• Hire, coach, and grow a small engineering team and set operating model.
• Partner across orgs to drive change toward continuous deployment and higher quality.
• Stay hands-on with architecture reviews, prototyping, and removing blockers.
• Translate platform investments into business outcomes for executives.
