Job summary

The Manitoba Government is seeking a Director of Seniors and Long-Term Care to lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of complex policies and projects in this portfolio. You will guide a team delivering the Ministers mandate items, including expanding long-term care beds, increasing direct hours of care, and expanding home-based and community supports to help seniors live independently.

The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in public administration or related field,

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in public administration, business administration, health or social sciences, or equivalent.
  • Experience in policy related to seniors, home and community care, and long-term care.
  • Knowledge of policy cycle: analysis, writing, consultation.
  • Proven team leadership with strong communication and accountability.
  • Experience recruiting, supervising, coaching and performance management.
  • Strong political acumen and ability to influence decisions.
  • Excellent written communication for confidential materials.
  • Strong verbal communication for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of change management principles.
  • Experience budgeting, forecasting and managing program funds.
