Job summary

Canada Life is seeking a Director, L&D Operations to build and lead the operational foundation that enables the Learning & Development function to scale. You will translate strategy into practical operating plans, oversee intake and portfolio governance, workforce planning and learning platforms while ensuring day‑to‑day operations run smoothly.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, partner with senior leaders, manage budgets and vendor performance, and drive continuous improvement including

Qualifications

• 7+ years of operations, L&D, HR ops or related experience.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in large organisations.
• Proven ability to establish intake, prioritisation and portfolio practices at scale.
• Strong financial management, budgeting and vendor oversight.
• Experience with enterprise platforms, data and automation.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• University degree or equivalent; bilingualism for Quebec role.
• Location flexibility across Canadian head offices.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise L&D operations system, intake, governance and roadmap.
• Oversee workforce planning, platforms, analytics and budgeting.
• Manage vendor governance, contracts and investments.
• Guide cross‑functional teams across Strategy, Design, Delivery and Operations.
• Develop dashboards to show demand, capacity, cycle time and impact.
• Coach and develop the L&D Operations team to meet outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement, automation and AI‑enabled practices.
