Job summary

Canada Life is seeking a Director, L&D Operations in Canada. This role leads the enterprise operating system linking demand, priorities, people, technology and investment decisions.

You will oversee intake, governance, workforce planning and platform strategy while driving measurable value across L&D. You will build new systems, lead a multidisciplinary team and partner with senior leaders to deliver reliable services, transparency and continuous improvement across multiple head office locations

Qualifications

• 7+ years of operations, enterprise learning, HR operations, or related field experience.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in large organizations.
• Experience establishing intake, prioritization, portfolio management, and operating-model practices at scale.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen including budgets, forecasts, vendors, contracts and investments.
• Experience setting direction for enterprise platforms, data, automation or digital transformation.
• Ability to translate strategy into practical operating plans and measurable value.
• Fluent in English; bilingualism is a plus for certain locations.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead the L&D operations strategy, multi-year roadmap and annual operating plan.
• Own the intake pathway for L&D requests with clear standards, triage, routing, SLAs and visibility.
• Lead portfolio and capacity reviews to prioritize work based on value, urgency, risk, and skills.
• Translate strategy into decision rights, workflows, quality controls and escalation practices across L&D pillars.
• Lead, coach and develop the L&D Operations team and align capacity with outcomes.
• Set the roadmap for enterprise learning platforms and related technology and automation.
• Ensure reliable services including learner support, catalog administration and program production support.
• Establish dashboards and reporting for leaders on demand, capacity, cycle time and impact.
• Lead L&D financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, chargebacks and vendor performance.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, Procurement, IT, Privacy and Compliance to ensure controls.
