Job summary

Canada Life is seeking a Director, L&D Operations to build and lead the operating foundation for Learning & Development. You will oversee intake, portfolio governance, platform strategy, and financial management to deliver scalable, high-value L&D services across the enterprise.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, collaborate with senior leaders, and drive continuous improvement and responsible automation to enhance the employee and partner experience.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in operations, enterprise learning, HR operations, portfolio or program management, shared services, learning technology or a related field.
• Significant experience leading multidisciplinary teams in a large, complex organization.
• Experience establishing or transforming intake, prioritization, portfolio management, workforce planning or operating-model practices at scale.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen with budgets, forecasts, vendors and investment decisions.
• Ability to set direction for enterprise platforms, technology roadmaps, integrations and data.

Responsibilities

• Translate L&D strategy into practical operating plans and reliable services.
• Lead a multidisciplinary operations team and prioritize trade-offs.
• Oversee intake and governance for L&D requests with clear service levels.
• Develop dashboards and reporting for leaders on demand, capacity and impact.
• Manage L&D financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and vendor performance.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, Procurement and Privacy to ensure strong controls.
