Job summary

Aplin is recruiting an experienced Director of Finance for a well-established law firm in Downtown Toronto, offering a hands-on leadership role over finance operations and accounting functions.

You will partner with senior leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and governance while mentoring a high-performing finance team. This on-site role provides a CAD 170,000–210,000 base salary with a discretionary annual bonus and a 4‑week vacation policy.

Qualifications

• CPA designation required.
• 8+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
• Experience leading a finance function at the Director, Controller, or Senior Manager level.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience within a law firm environment.
• Strong full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and developing finance teams.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to partner with senior leadership and key stakeholders.
• Hands‑on leadership style with the ability to balance strategic oversight with day-to-day operational involvement.
• Experience with financial systems, ERP platforms, and process improvement initiatives required.
• Experience with legal accounting systems (such as Elite 3E or similar platforms) is considered an asset.

Our client, a well-established Law firm located in Downtown Toronto, ON is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to join their leadership team.
