Job description

Job Title: Director of Finance

Reporting directly to the Head of Finance/CFO, the Director of Finance will oversee the finance function, including financial reporting and FP&A. This is a building role -- we're looking for someone keen to take on the challenge of revamping the finance function and building out a world-class department.

The role is hybrid with three days in our Markham office.

Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with the Head of Finance and the finance team to prepare annual financial statements.
2. Provide oversight of the finance function, including financial reporting, revenue recognition, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
3. Ensure timely and accurate delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
4. Continuously improve financial processes and the finance department to adapt to organizational changes and past acquisitions.
5. Maintain compliance with corporate accounting policies and procedures in line with ASPE standards and other regulations.
6. Engage with business leaders for financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting.
7. Develop and monitor cash flow forecasts to ensure adequate liquidity and align predictions with actual cash positions.
8. Partner with the business to assess performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
9. Serve as a liaison with external auditors, managing the annual audit process alongside the finance team.
10. Prepare presentation materials for internal and external stakeholder discussions.
11. Collaborate with tax consultants to ensure compliance with Canadian and US tax obligations.
12. Assist in implementing the ERP system with Microsoft Business Central.
13. Monitor compliance with debt covenants to prevent breaches.

• Experience establishing processes and controls from scratch
• Experience in the healthcare technology industry is an asset
