Job summary

Randstad Canada seeks a bilingual (English/French) senior director of Complex Accounting and Special Projects to shape enterprise accounting governance and serve as a top technical advisor on strategic growth.

Reporting to the Vice-President, Group Financial Controller, you will lead policy development, IFRS implementations for acquisitions, and mentor a high‑performing accounting team in a downtown Toronto hub with a 3‑day hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive accounting, advisory, or audit experience in large corporate or multinational environments.
• Deep IFRS knowledge and ability to apply to complex corporate deals.
• Full bilingual proficiency in English and French for cross-national collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead M&A & strategic transactions, manage purchase price allocation and transaction accounting implications.
• Direct enterprise accounting policies, analyze evolving IFRS standards, and lead standard implementations across business units.
• Oversee technical rigor in disclosures and audit-ready position papers; lead impairment evaluations.
• Serve as primary liaison with external auditors on technical accounting matters.
• Build, coach, and elevate a high-performing technical accounting team.

What You’ll Drive

• M&A & Strategic Transactions: Serve as the lead technical expert on acquisitions and deal structuring, managing purchase price allocation and transaction accounting implications.


• Policy & IFRS Excellence: Direct enterprise accounting policies, analyze evolving IFRS standards, and lead seamless standard implementations across business units.


• Technical Rigor & Disclosures: Author robust, audit-ready position papers, oversee annual goodwill and intangible asset impairment evaluations, and partner on complex financial disclosures.

What You Bring

• Senior Leadership: 15+ years of progressive accounting, advisory, or audit experience within large corporate or multinational environments.
