isgSearch is recruiting for a Vice President, Accounting on behalf of a Canadian financial services client in Mississauga. The role leads corporate accounting, controls and transformation initiatives, guiding a high-performing team across multi-entity entities.

Reporting to the SVP, Controller, you will drive IFRS compliance, audit coordination and financial governance while partnering with senior leaders to advance the finance function and support long-term growth.

Competenze

• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership.
• Experience in a publicly traded, multi-entity environment.
• Strong IFRS knowledge; US GAAP experience is an asset.
• Background in external audits, internal controls and financial governance.
• Knowledge of Canadian income and indirect taxation.
• Experience leading finance transformation, process improvement, automation and financial systems initiatives.
• Proven ability to develop teams, influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex accounting matters effectively.
• Public accounting or external audit experience strongly preferred.

Compensation: $190,000–$225,000 base salary + bonus

About the Opportunity

We are hiring on behalf of our client, a well-established Canadian financial services organization with a growing national presence and a diverse portfolio of consumer financing products. The organization is continuing to expand its operations and invest in its finance function, with a focus on strengthening controls, improving processes and supporting long-term growth.

Role Overview

Reporting to the SVP, Controller, the Vice President, Accounting will oversee key accounting and controllership functions across the organization. This is a senior leadership role focused on financial integrity, accounting operations, internal controls, audit support and the continued improvement of finance processes.

The successful candidate will help modernize the controllership function through process standardization, automation and systems enhancements, while leading and developing a high-performing accounting team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead corporate accounting and related functions, including disbursements, asset and inventory accounting, vendor management and expenses.

• Background in external audits, internal controls and financial governance.
• Knowledge of Canadian income and indirect taxation.
• Experience leading finance transformation, process improvement, automation and financial systems initiatives.
• Proven ability to develop teams, influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex accounting matters effectively.
• Public accounting or external audit experience strongly preferred.
