- Monitor and ensure clinical care processes are delivered in accordance with individual resident care plans.
- Lead, implement, and oversee clinical programs, including falls prevention, skin and wound care, continence care, and pain management.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, provincial regulations, and applicable long-term care legislation.
- Promote a resident-centered approach by engaging residents, families, and team members.
- Foster a positive working environment for staff and external care providers.
- Manage the nursing budget, monitor expenditures, and collaborate with the Executive Director to address variances.
- Participate in strategic planning and accreditation initiatives.
- Uphold nursing practice standards in accordance with the College of Nurses.
- Evaluate and maintain staffing schedules consistent with the nursing budget and applicable collective agreements.
- Identify staff learning needs and coordinate continuing professional development opportunities.
- Oversee the effective delivery and evaluation of clinical programs and Quality committees, including Resident Safety and Professional Advisory Committees.
- Comply with organizational Health and Safety Policies and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Nursing Science or equivalent post-diploma education (asset).
- Gerontological Nurse Certification (GNC) is considered an asset.
- Current registration in good standing with the provincial College of Nurses.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in the long-term care sector (Ontario).
- Minimum of 3 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity in a healthcare setting (Ontario).
- Demonstrated leadership skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality customer service.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience with computerized documentation systems.
