Job summary

Canada Cartage is seeking a Director of Business Development to lead the growth of new and strategic accounts in Quebec and Atlantic Canada, building value-based solutions and driving revenue.

The ideal candidate will have a proven quota attainment, strong consultative selling skills, and the ability to collaborate with Operations, Pricing, Solutions, and Legal teams to lock in long-term partnerships.

Qualifications

  • 4–5 years in Transportation Sales.
  • Hunter with a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new dedicated fleet business opportunities in Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
  • Proactively build pipelines and reach out to prospects.
  • Manage accounts through regular follow-up and monitoring.
  • Present service solutions with competitive pricing to prospects.
  • Upsell/cross-sell to new and current customers for revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Pricing, Solutions, Legal and Implementation teams.
  • Prepare periodic KPI reports and review performance with customers.
  • Anticipate business needs and foster long-term relationships.
  • Analyze costing models and maintain gross margin thresholds.

DIRECTOR BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Position Summary

The incumbent in this role will be responsible for fostering and developing excellent new commercial relationships towards achieving revenue/ bottom-line growth. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record exceeding quota, a strong understanding of consultative and strategic selling concepts, develops and implements value based initiatives to differentiate, build customer loyalty and drive profitable revenue growth.

You are a true Hunter and enjoy the challenge of driving revenue growth through the acquisition of new customers and the expansion of existing accounts. Role involves prospecting and identifying potential clients, understanding their transportation needs, and presenting our services as solutions to their logistics challenges.

Schedule: 40 hours Monday to Friday
What you will do
  • Identify new dedicated fleet business opportunities, primarily in Quebec and Atlantic Canada
  • Reach out to new prospects and develop pipelines using relevant sales engagement tools
  • Account management for new accounts through regular follow-up and monitoring
  • Acquire critical business information in order to present effective service solutions and competitive pricing to new prospects.
  • Identify and secure, upsell and cross-sell opportunities with new name prospects and current customers for additional revenue from all fleet solutions.
  • Internal Collaboration with Operations, Pricing, Solutions, Legal and Business Implementation teams to ensure accuracy within reporting, prioritization of tasks & required actions.
  • Conduct business reviews, prepare and communicate periodic sector KPI reports with customers to help them compare their actual versus budgeted amounts and track the progress accordingly.
  • Proactively anticipate dealing (responding) to customers’ business needs and identify opportunities to establish a long-term business relationship; thereby fully integrating our services throughout a customers’ network.
  • Analyze costing models and maintain threshold gross margins and implement yearly contractual price adjustments.

  • You’re a closer, with exemplary customer service skills.
  • You’re driven and have strong documentation skills with (CRM) software, like salesforce
  • Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
