Job summary

MCAP is seeking a Director, Software Engineering to drive AI modernization across the delivery lifecycle. You will bridge strategy and hands-on execution, partnering with engineering, architecture, security, and delivery teams to design, prove, implement, and scale AI-enabled capabilities that improve delivery speed and quality.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years in an IT leadership role.
• Experience building or integrating coding agents, developer copilots, workflow automation agents, or AI-enabled engineering tools.
• Strong hands-on engineering background with modern API design, cloud-native patterns, and production support.
• Experience defining and measuring developer-productivity or AI-adoption outcomes.
• Understanding of secure software development, secrets management, data protection and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Participate in and guide 1–3 year IT strategic plans for the enterprise and business units.
• Lead acquisition and deployment of AI development tools and platforms.
• Direct research on emerging AI development products and standards.
• Ensure delivery projects are on time and within budget; liaise with architecture and infrastructure teams.
• Recruit, mentor and develop staff, fostering MCAP’s values and culture.
• Establish and monitor performance standards and accountability across the team.
• Develop reusable playbooks, implementation patterns, and guardrails for AI-enabled development.
