The Director, Marketing Communications will provide leadership and guidance through actionable insights in creating and managing a brand strategy and communications plan that utilizes deep consumer insights to differentiate Farber, expand their reach, and drive demand for their services.

In this role, the Director, Marketing Communications will partner with the VP of Marketing and be a key member of the Marketing Leadership team, as well as a valued partner to the broader Farber leadership team. From day one, the Director will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of a comprehensive and transformational advertising strategy that expands Farber’s reach while creating greater demand and preference for their services. As the marketing communications leader, you will lead client marketing efforts to drive engagement, reduce churn, and improve the client experience, building on their best-in-class client satisfaction. The Director, Marketing Communications will also serve as Farber’s Brand Champion, protecting their most valued asset and seeking opportunities to evolve their brand and position Farber as the brand of choice. Utilizing proven marketing and communication skills with a customer-first focus, this role will collaborate with the Performance Marketing and Web Channel teams, lead various advertising agencies, and oversee multiple high-profile marketing projects and a high-performing team.

To be considered for this role, you should possess the following:

  • Experience in traditional marketing and communications methods, including customer marketing, in fast-paced, entrepreneurial organizations
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to recruit, mentor, coach, and develop highly engaged employees
  • Strong understanding of marketing in the consumer finance sector, with insights into Canadians' challenges with debt, financial literacy, and financial wellness
  • Effective communication, presentation, and influencing skills across all stakeholder levels
  • A data-driven, results-oriented mindset with the ability to analyze results, derive insights, and create action plans
  • Success in developing and implementing brand strategies, including strategic planning, communications planning, and end-to-end campaign development
  • Experience managing ad campaigns and content strategies across platforms in a fast-paced, analytical environment
  • Proven success in leading customer marketing strategies that increase engagement, reduce churn, and enhance the customer experience
  • A passion for the evolving marketing landscape with knowledge of current trends in marketing, social media, and communications, and a test-and-learn approach
  • Solid understanding of strategic marketing, brand reputation policies, and experience in communications and public relations
  • A strategic, curious, and creative mindset, always seeking to test, learn, and optimize results
  • Experience with Cause Marketing is an asset
