What You'll Be Doing

As a member of CIBC's Human Resources (HR) team, the Director, Human Capital Strategies is a seasoned professional responsible for leading the design, development and execution of future-focused strategic workforce strategies aligned to our bank's strategic priorities. Strategies include reimagining the future of work, HR transformation and talent-based strategies to execute against CIBC's long-term priorities. The Director, Human Capital Strategies will also support our human capital planning process to align our investments to business strategies. This role drives strategic thinking, thought-leadership and innovation across key HR workforce initiatives.

How you'll succeed

  • Future-Focused - You lead the design, development of workforce strategies including key topics like future of work or new operating models, informed by industry insights and CIBC's global human capital strategic priorities. This includes conducting internal and external market research to identify opportunities and translate the research into insights that create a compelling narrative and recommendation that will inform and drive how we reimagine and transform our workforce to match our bank's strategic goals.
  • Ownership Mindset - You anticipate emerging trends and future needs to build and develop strategies to support our human capital deliverables. This includes developing and building key workforce strategies to support key initiatives in partnership with key stakeholders across our team.
  • Human Capital / Talent Management Consulting - Provide market leading insights and trends to inform key workforce strategy recommendations. Understand key insights on how HR enables it's business and our workforce, as well as how our businesses are being disrupted, including new business models, ways of working and the future of work.
  • Effective Delivery and Managing Through Change: You take a holistic view to change management on large, transformational programs. You drive, manage and execute projects and initiatives with a focus on change management while supporting the business goals, objectives and outcomes. You build and implement strategic roadmaps, embedding change management methodology, to deliver relevant tools and change tactics that provides the right level of engagement with key stakeholders, while supporting the enterprise in effectively transitioning through the identified change towards the desired state.
  • Communication - Strong written and verbal communication skills in order to storyboard, develop whitepapers and build buy in on key workforce strategies and recommendations. You have a proven track record in leading and creating materials meant to be shared at Executive forums and audience.
  • Relationship Building - You act both autonomously and collaboratively. You forge strong relationships with various teams, by working with internal and external partners

Who You Are

  • You have a degree/diploma in Business, Human Resources or a related field. You have 7+ years of experience with HR concepts with a focus on Talent, Workforce Strategies, Change Management and/or Human Capital Consulting / Strategy.
  • You can demonstrate extensive human capital (human resource) knowledge.
