Job summary

Compass Minerals Canada Corp. in Goderich, Ontario, seeks a Director of FP&A - Site Operations to lead finance for the Goderich Mine. You will drive budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and business partnership with operations to optimize cost performance and capital decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience as a Controller, Plant Controller, Site Controller or similar manufacturing finance leadership role.
• Strong FP&A, manufacturing accounting, cost accounting, inventory accounting and internal controls.
• Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with operations leadership and influence business decisions.
• Experience leading, developing and mentoring accounting and finance teams.
• Strong ERP, financial systems, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with operations leadership and Corporate Finance & Accounting to align financial and business priorities.
• Drive performance through financial insights, strategic guidance and data-driven decision-making.
• Lead financial reviews, identify and communicate trends, risks and opportunities and provide actionable recommendations to leadership.
• Present forecasts, financial results and variance analyses, providing clear insights to support business decisions.
• Lead the site’s annual budgeting, recurring forecasting and long-range planning processes.
• Develop financial models, scenario analyses and performance reporting to evaluate the financial impact of operational initiatives.
• Establish and analyze performance metrics that drive profitability and achievement of strategic objectives.
• Partner with Finance to analyze and communicate monthly financial performance against the plan, forecast, and prior-year results.
• Drive forecast accuracy and strategic planning through trend analysis, market research and future performance scenarios.
• Provide financial leadership for capital investments, productivity initiatives and operational improvement projects through business case development, ROI analysis and post-investment reviews.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement by utilizing operational and financial performance metrics to identify process enhancement opportunities and drive sustainable results.

We are seeking a Director, FP&A - Site Operations to join our team in Goderich, Ontario. The Director, FP&A - Site Operations serves as the finance leader for the Goderich Mine and acts as an extension of Corporate Finance and FP&A. This role is responsible for leading all site finance activities, including financial planning and analysis, accounting review, financial reporting, internal controls support, budgeting and forecasting. As a key member of the site leadership team, this position partners closely with business operations leaders to optimize financial and cost performance, support operational excellence, productivity initiatives and evaluate capital investment decisions. This role is accountable for ensuring financial integrity, compliance and the delivery of actionable insights that support achievement of business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

FP&A Business Partnership

• Analyze manufacturing performance and cost drivers, providing insights to operations leadership.
• Provide oversight of standard costing, inventory valuation and related financial records to ensure results accurately reflect operating performance.
• Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with accounting policies and reporting requirements.
• Support the Manager of Accounting in monitoring internal controls and financial processes to manage risk and ensure compliance.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, coach and develop site finance personnel through talent development, succession planning and performance management.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and business partnership.
• Promote consistent processes, reporting and best practices across the finance and accounting organization.
• Perform other related duties as required.
