The Department of Agriculture is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Director, Fiscal Planning and Reporting with the Fiscal Planning and Reporting Branch.

Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Executive Financial Officer (EFO), the Director of Fiscal Planning and Reporting (FPR) is the senior budget and reporting officer accountable for core/summary budget coordination and financial management within the department of Agriculture, a complex department that includes a Crown corporation, a variety of intricate cost shared programs and multiple labs that generate revenue. The position oversees and coordinates the department’s Estimates process and cash-flow reporting/monitoring on a core and summary basis, and is accountable for ensuring compliance with the Financial Administration Act, the Appropriations Act, financial provisions of statutes under the administration of the department and provincial policies and guidelines such as the Financial Administration Manual, General Manual of Administration and other policies or directives as established by Treasury Board or the Office of the Provincial Comptroller. This role provides leadership and guidance ensuring resource utilization aligns with departmental and government priorities, adheres to provincial policies/guidelines, reflects the impact of accounting treatments and that the department is compliant with all pertinent reporting and disclosure requirements. This position provides leadership and oversight of the branch to achieve the branch’s mandate and ensures the branch provides exceptional service, value added analysis and recommendations in a timely manner to senior management and the executive to support decision making across the organization.
