The Department of Education and Early Childhood Learning is looking to fill a Consultant (CRC) position within the Continuous Improvement Branch (CIB). The CIB is responsible for strategic policy development, action planning, and sector engagement to advance K–12 education continuous improvement. The branch oversees and governs the department’s accountability and assurance framework for school division planning, implementing, monitoring and reporting, and the data performance measurement and analytics framework, including a public reporting framework to measure, monitor, and report on student success and well-being, for the English, French Immersion, Français and Senior Years Technology Education programs. Please note that interchange agreements may be considered for this position.

- Must have a valid class 5 Manitoba Driver's license and be able to travel within Manitoba

Qualifications:
Essential:
- Master's degree in education with demonstrated school division leadership experience. Other significant and relevant experience may be considered.
- Demonstrated experience in system, school division and school planning, implementing, monitoring and reporting, with extensive knowledge of the K to 12 education system.
- Effective leadership and change management skills to support schools/divisions in highly effective planning, implementing, monitoring and reporting in alignment with provincial priorities and initiatives.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to demonstrate qualities of leadership and responsibility, critical thinking and sound judgment, working as a team member as well as independently.
- Excellent planning, facilitation and organizational skills; experience in the management of complex projects simultaneously; and the ability to deal with pressure and ambiguous situations.
- Highly developed understanding, sensitivity, leadership and responsiveness to the current realities of the K to 12 education system including, but not limited to: an understanding of the context related to French First Language and French Second Language education, Indigenous education and the advancement of Truth and Reconciliation, as well as inclusionary mindsets and practices in relation to pedagogy and culturally-safe learning environments.
- Strong political acumen and the ability to manage confidential, controversial and sensitive situations.
- Demonstrated use and understanding of data to inform decisions through the collaborative inquiry model.
- Strongly developed verbal communication skills.
- Strongly developed written communication skills.
Desired:
- Ability to write and verbally communicate in French.
Duties:
The position leads the provincial implementation of the K to 12 Framework for Continuous Improvement, Manitoba’s accountability and assurance framework for school division planning, implementing, monitoring and reporting; and ongoing public reporting of student achievement data and statistics in alignment with the department’s data and performance measurement framework.
- Coordinate the development and implementation of the Framework for Continuous Improvement and support documents for Kindergarten to Grade 12 Education.
- Share expertise and collaborate with colleagues to meet department and government needs and priorities related to Kindergarten to Grade 12 Education.
- Represent the department by working with stakeholders and partners on projects and matters that are within the mandate of the department, division and branch.
