Job summary

Simon Fraser University seeks a Director of Evaluation and Educational Quality Improvement to lead the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of evaluation across UGME, PGME, and CPD. You will translate strategic visions into practical frameworks, data governance, and evidence-based reporting for accreditation readiness and informed decision‑making.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Education, Health Professions Education, Evaluation, Measurement or a related field and five years of experience in the evaluation of educational programs, within a post-secondary or health professions education setting or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Strong understanding of evaluation frameworks within an educational context.
• Strong knowledge of systems development and data collection processes to support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Proficiency in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods and relevant data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, R, NVivo, Excel, Qualtrics, or equivalent platforms).
• Exceptional project management and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across multiple partners.
• Proven ability to build, lead and mentor teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring the successful implementation of cross-functional projects and initiatives.
• Capacity to introduce innovative methods and approaches to enhance medical education and streamline CQI processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Evaluation program across UGME, PGME, and CPD.
• Translate the EQI strategic vision into operational evaluation frameworks, data governance systems, and evidence-based reporting.
• Support program quality, accreditation readiness, and informed decision‑making by educational leadership.
• Design the evaluation framework, data infrastructure, accreditation compliance, and quality improvement cycles; lead the team.
• Ensure evaluation activities are executed with fidelity, rigour, and timeliness across the School’s medical education programs.

About the Role

The Director, Evaluation and Educational Quality Improvement (EQI), provides leadership for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Evaluation program across the Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME), Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME), and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programs at the Stephens Family School of Medicine. In collaboration with the Faculty Lead, the Director translates the EQI strategic vision into operational evaluation frameworks, data governance systems, and evidence-based reporting that support program quality, accreditation readiness, and informed decision-making by educational leadership. The Director is accountable for the design of the evaluation framework, data infrastructure, accreditation compliance, quality improvement cycles, and team leadership, ensuring that evaluation activities are executed with fidelity, rigour, and timeliness across the School's medical education programs.
