Job description

Marcon Construction is coming to Calgary! Founded in 1985, Marcon is an established real estate development and construction company specializing in acquiring, developing, building, and managing properties across Metro Vancouver. A focus on quality and craft is what the business was built on, giving us a trusted name in the community.

Marcon is expanding into the Calgary market and seeking a senior-level construction professional to lead this growth. This individual will be responsible for establishing Marcon’s Calgary satellite office, building relationships with reputable trade partners and local stakeholders, and overseeing the region’s construction portfolio.

Our expansion is marked by a significant new project: a four-year, three-tower high-rise development delivering over 1,100 new homes. Featuring a four-level commercial and mixed-use podium, the development is centrally located in downtown Calgary. This role will oversee construction from pre-construction through to completion, leading the build-out of a new team and ensuring scheduling, budgeting, safety, quality standards, and processes are upheld. This project builds on Marcon’s success in Vancouver and reflects our continued growth alongside a valued client.

About You

If you are a seasoned leader in the Calgary construction space, and pride yourself on effective problem solving, risk mitigation, trade management, relationship building, and ultimately hold yourself accountable for project success, we want to hear from you!

1. 10+ years of senior project management experience in the construction industry
2. Solid knowledge of the local Calgary / Alberta residential construction industry
3. College diploma or university degree in a related field, PMP certification an asset
4. Sound understanding of contractual and financial functions on projects
5. Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), industry practices, estimating/budgeting, scheduling, and safety requirements
6. Ability to lead and motivate construction teams
7. Ability to resolve project disputes
8. Excellent presentation skills
