What is the opportunity?
As Director, Business Management – Global Markets, you will play a critical role in enabling the success of front office businesses by providing strategic and operational support across Canada’s Global Markets platform. This role is ideal for a dynamic leader with a deep understanding of capital markets who thrives in cross-functional environments and can drive initiatives to support the business on governance, strategy & implementation, performance/KPI management, messaging & communication, new business initiatives, technology, and operational matters.
What will you do?
Partner closely with senior leaders to support strategy execution, business performance, and operational excellence across Global Markets.
Lead the identification and delivery of cross-functional initiatives that address key business problems, drive efficiencies, or mitigate risk.
Optimize business management frameworks related to infrastructure, regulatory readiness, governance, and internal controls.
Act as the key liaison between the trading floor and support functions including Technology, Finance, Compliance, Operations, Risk, Legal, and HR to develop recommendations for business problems.
Support business planning activities such as product enablement, budget and resource planning, headcount management, and performance tracking to identify areas for improvement.
Provide thought leadership and guidance on business priorities through proactive problem solving and strong execution.
Represent the business in regulatory, audit, or enterprise-wide forums as required.
Drive decision-making, coordinate across project teams, and manage communication flows between business and support partners.
What do you need to succeed?
A self-starter with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
5+ years of experience in Capital Markets within a Business Management, Product Control, Operations, Finance, Consulting, or Technology role.
Strong understanding of Global Markets infrastructure and products.
Proven ability to navigate complex environments and influence senior stakeholders.
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; ability to synthesize and present data clearly and concisely.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage stakeholders across all levels.
Excellent organizational, time management, and execution discipline.
Proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
