Job summary

Egis Canada is seeking a driven Director of Business Development for Canada, Nuclear and Environment to grow our practice nationwide with a Canada-wide client focus and Ontario starting point. You will report to the VP, and coordinate with regional leaders to win major infrastructure work.

The role requires 10+ years in BD within engineering/infrastructure, strong negotiator, skilled in leading cross-functional teams, and adept at building lasting relationships with public sector clients.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in business development within engineering or infrastructure services, with a proven track record of winning work in Canada.
  • Established relationships with municipal, provincial and federal clients and agencies across Canada, focused on Ontario to start.
  • Familiarity with Egis' core service areas, including nuclear, environment, and energy and sustainable cities.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience leading negotiations and closing contracts under complex terms.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across technical, commercial, and delivery teams in a fast-paced, matrix environment.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Grow the Business: develop BD strategies to grow Egis' client and market portfolio across Canada, focusing on Nuclear in Ontario and Environment in Eastern Canada.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities across the full Egis services portfolio; lead the pursuit lifecycle to contract close with Tender Unit involvement.
  • Drive revenue targets and manage the pipeline with accurate forecasting and resource planning.
  • Collaborate with the VP for Canada East/West to support major bids and positioning efforts; ensure coordination across BD team.
  • Maintain CRM data across client portfolio; oversee Master Service Agreements and standing offers; pursue call-ups and opportunities.
  • Build client relationships with nuclear and environment clients, agencies and stakeholders across Ontario and East Canada.
  • Stay informed on funding, procurement activity, and policy developments to identify opportunities early.
  • Represent Egis at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to strengthen profile and generate leads.
  • Lead the BD seller-doer team; mentor in pursuit leadership, proposal writing, and client management; ensure governance and reporting.

Egis Canada is looking for a driven and experienced Director, Business Development, Canada, Nuclear and Environment to grow our practice across Canada. This is a client-facing role responsible for building relationships, developing opportunities, and winning work across the Egis nuclear and environment services portfolio.

Nuclear and Environment are key parts of our strategic growth plan, and this role will have a strong focus on clients in Canada with a focus in Ontario. You will report to the VP, Business Development and Growth, Canada East, with dotted-line reporting relationships to the Business Line Director for Energy and Sustainable Cities, and the Service Line Directors for Nuclear and Environment. The business development activities in Western Canada related to Nuclear and Environment are to be coordinated with the Western Canada Business Development team.

Key Responsibilities

Grow the Business: Develop and execute BD strategies that grow Egis' client and market portfolio across Canada, with a primary focus on Nuclear across Canada with a focus in Ontario to start, and on Environment across Eastern Canada (Ontario and Québec).

Identify and pursue new opportunities across the full Egis services portfolio, build lasting client relationships, and lead the pursuit lifecycle from opportunity identification through to contract close in collaboration with the Tender Unit for larger/strategic mandates.

Drive revenue targets and manage the pipeline with accurate forecasting and resource allocation.

Work closely with the VP, Business Development and Growth for Canada East and West to support major infrastructure bids and positioning efforts, ensuring strong coordination across the business development team.

Maintain accurate CRM data across the client portfolio and oversee active Master Service Agreements and standing offers, ensuring call-ups are actively pursued and opportunities are tracked.

Build Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with nuclear and environment clients, agencies, and key stakeholders across East Canada with a focus in Ontario to start.

Stay informed on funding announcements, procurement activity, and policy developments at the municipal, provincial and federal level to identify and act on opportunities early.

Represent Egis at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to strengthen our profile and generate leads.

Lead the Team: Mentor the business development seller‑doer team in Operations, building capability in pursuit leadership, proposal writing, and client management. Work closely with technical, commercial, and delivery teams across business lines to develop compelling proposals and value propositions that win work. Ensure CRM records, pipeline reporting, and pursuit governance practices are consistently maintained. Provide regular updates to leadership on pipeline status, market activity, and client engagement.

Qualifications

10+ years in business development within engineering or infrastructure services, with a proven track record of winning work in the Canadian market.

Established relationships with municipal, provincial and federal clients and agencies across Canada with a focus in Ontario to start, with a solid understanding of public‑sector procurement processes.

Familiarity with Egis' core service areas, including nuclear, environment, and energy and sustainable cities, is an asset.

Strong commercial acumen with experience leading negotiations and closing contracts under complex terms.

Ability to work collaboratively across technical, commercial, and delivery teams in a fast‑paced, matrix environment.

Strong communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills.
