Job summary

Canada Life is seeking a Director of Business Analysis to lead the day-to-day execution and maturity of a modern, high-performing BA practice. You will translate business needs into clear requirements across initiatives in partnership with business, technology, finance, and risk.

You will oversee requirements and testing activities, shape BA intake, and provide mobilization support to key initiatives while ensuring traceability and alignment with enterprise practice.

Qualifications

• 12-15 years of progressive Business Analysis experience in a large, complex, regulated environment.
• Experience maturing BA practices, standards, and ways of working in a matrixed organization.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication and facilitation to translate needs into actionable requirements.
• Experience across strategy, portfolio, and delivery; collaboration with business and technology partners.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity, influence without direct authority, and support organizational change.
• Experience contributing to business case development, outcome measurement, and prioritization.
• Understanding of Agile, hybrid, and traditional delivery lifecycles; financial services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Business Analysts with clear expectations.
• Implement and mature BA frameworks, standards, tools, and templates.
• Build a community of practice through coaching and knowledge sharing.
• Oversee BA activities, including elicitation, design, and validation.
• Oversee testing activities including test case docs, execution, and defects.
• Lead intake, discovery, and shaping to improve portfolio quality.
• Provide mobilization support with scope, approach, and resourcing.
• Ensure requirements management and traceability across delivery.
