Job summary

Inclusions East Inc. is hiring Casual Direct Support Workers to join our team in Prince Edward Island, Canada. You will help individuals with intellectual disabilities participate in community activities, build skills, and value independence.

Applicants should have a related education in Human Services or a university degree; experience is an asset. A criminal record check is required, along with strong communication and problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work with minimal

Qualifications

• Must have completed a recognized Human Services program and/or university degree in a related field.
• Experience is an asset; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Must present a satisfactorily completed criminal record check.
• Must be able to develop, implement, and monitor meaningful day opportunities for clients.
• Must have strong problem-solving abilities and good public relations skills.
• Must be able to work with clients with minimal supervision and relate well to them.
• Knowledge of the community and contacts is an asset.
• First-Aid and CPR are preferred but can be obtained within the first three months of employment.

Education:

• Successful completion of a recognized Human Services program and/or university degree in a related field.

Experience:

• Previous experience an asset
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Other:

• Must present a satisfactorily completed criminal record check.
• Must be able to demonstrate an ability to develop, implement and monitor meaningful day opportunities with and for clients.
• Must possess strong abilities to problem solve.
• Must have positive communication abilities and good public relations skills.
• Must be able to work and relate well with clients and be able to work with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of the community and applicable contacts and resources are definite assets.
• Current First-Aid and CPR are an preferred but can be obtained within the first three months of employment.
