Job summary

Community Living Kingston and District (CLKD) seeks Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals with intellectual disabilities in daily living and community participation.

You will help with daily activities, personal care, meals, and supported employment tasks while following a person-centered approach and promoting inclusion in Kingston, Gananoque, and Napanee locations.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma (e.g., DSW, Behavioural Science, SSW, CYC, CJS, or a degree) or significant work experience in social services.
  • Valid Ontario G driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • CPIC with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • Availability to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with daily living activities and community participation.
  • Provide personal hygiene support and meal preparation.
  • Assist with medication administration and general housekeeping duties.

Role Overview

Direct Support Professional (DSP): As a DSP, you’ll provide essential support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, assisting them with all aspects of daily living and community involvement. Your work will reflect a person-centered approach, helping those you support thrive and grow to participate fully in their communities. Your responsibilities will include assisting individuals with daily living activities, including community participation, personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication administration, and general housekeeping duties.

Competitive Pay & Benefits

Starting wage equivalent to $28.14 per hour (25.28 + 7.3% in lieu of vacation & 4% in lieu of holiday). Plus, after completion of probationary period (4 months), there is guaranteed minimum 24 hours per week, a comprehensive benefits plan available to part time and full time, multi-sector pension plan, paid accrued sick time, and more.

What We’re Looking For
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma (e.g., DSW, Behavioural Science, SSW, CYC, CJS, or a degree) and/or significant work experience in social services
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, days, afternoons, evenings, overnight (4, 8, 10, 12 hours) including weekends and holidays.
  • Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities is an asset.
Mandatory Requirements
  • A valid Ontario ‘G’ driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract
  • CPIC with Vulnerable Sector Screening
