Job summary

Karis Disability Services in London, ON is hiring a Direct Support Professional for a temporary full-time role in a Supported Independent Living program. You will assist adults with developmental disabilities in daily activities, helping them live independently within their homes and the community.

Roles include rotating day/afternoon shifts, alternate weekends, and providing skills development support with a focus on independence and community integration.

Qualifications

Description

DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL
Direct Support Professional (DSP) employees work with people who experience developmental disabilities as they live in their homes and communities. This position assists people in their daily life, working with them and their connections to ensure that they can live fully in the community. Direct Support Professionals recognize people's rights to direct their life, understanding that each person has unique gifts and needs, and they support people to learn skills for their own growth and development.

Requirements:

• Access to reliable transportation

Preferred:

• 12 Months Experience
• Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Worker, or post-secondary education in a related field
• Experience with working with Behaviour Support Plans and CPI techniques.
• Experience supporting people living within a Supported Independent Living model.
