Job summary

Empower Simcoe in Barrie, Ontario is seeking Permanent Part-Time Direct Care Professionals to support residents in the O'Brien House Accommodation Program. You will assist with daily living activities, meals, personal care, and accompany individuals to appointments per their plans.

The role requires a care-related certificate, experience with the elderly, proficiency in Microsoft Office, a clear vulnerable sector check, a Class G driver's license, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Certificate from an accredited educational facility in elder care, health care or social services.
• Previous experience working with independent elder population; geriatric experience is an asset.
• Good computer skills in Microsoft Office and database experience are required.
• A current clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector screening, valid Class G driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.

Responsibilities

• Administering and assisting with routine medication dispensing and treatment procedures.
• Providing the highest level of personal care and attention to individuals, following individual support plans.
• Liaising with other care professionals relating to the care needs of individuals.
• Responsible for making beds, tidying rooms, light cleaning, preparing and serving meals and drinks.
• Being an active and encouraging member of the support team; contributing to team meetings.

We are presently accepting resumes for a couple of Permanent Part-Time Direct Care Professionals to work in our Accommodation Program - O'Brien House. This position supports people with intellectual disabilities with all aspects of their daily living. Duties may include support with finances, medical appointments, personal care, household duties, meal preparation, and supporting individuals to get ready for their daily activities as per their individual choices or plans.

Compensation Package

• Work up to 55 hours biweekly;
• Minimum starting rate of pay is $25.66 per hour;
• 11 paid statutory holidays;

Following The Successful Completion Of a 6-month Probationary Period
