Empower Simcoe seeks Permanent Part-Time Direct Support Workers I and II to work in our group homes in Orillia. Roles include day shifts up to 63 hours biweekly, typically 8am–8pm, supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities in daily living within a group-home setting.

Minimum qualifications include a Developmental Service Worker diploma or equivalent, ability to work weekends/holidays, and a valid G license.

Qualifications

• Developmental Service Worker diploma or equivalent as determined by employer is required.
• If you have a degree/diploma in an unrelated field, 2 years of full-time work experience supporting people is required.
• Upload diplomas/degrees with resume and indicate program length.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.
• Attend team meetings and training during daytime hours.
• Valid class G driver's license and reliable transportation is an asset.

We are presently accepting resumes for a number Permanent Part-Time Support Worker I and II to work in our group homes in Orillia. These positions will be assigned to our day line working up to 63 hours biweekly, primarily between the hours of 8am-8pm.

Compensation Package

• Additional hours may be available with a minimum rate of pay of $25.55/hour.
• 11 paid Statutory Holidays.

Following The Successful Completion Of Probation

Minimum Qualifications

• Developmental Service Worker diploma or an acceptable educational equivalency (Child and Youth Worker, Early Childhood Education, Social Service Worker, Nursing, Psychology, Personal Support Worker, etc.) as determined by the employer is required.
• Candidates who have a completed Degree or Diploma from an accredited college or university in an unrelated field must have 2 years full-time work experience directly supporting people.
• When submitting your resume and cover letter, please also upload a copy of your diplomas / degrees. In your resume, please ensure that you specify the length of your programs.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.
• Ability to attend team meetings and training as required during daytime hours.
• A valid class "G" driver's license and own reliable transportation is an asset.

Role/Duties

Our Direct Support Workers provide support to individuals with intellectual disabilities with all aspects of daily living within a group home setting. Responsibilities may include providing support during overnight shifts, personal care, household duties, meal preparation and finances. You may also support people to appointments or events to foster connections within the community.
