Job summary

Aramark at Saint Mary's University in Halifax is seeking a Receiver to join the SMU Dining Services team. You will be responsible for safely receiving products, ensuring proper labeling, packaging, and temperatures, and helping stock and prepare supplies for the dining operation.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to HACCP, and ability to work with or without supervision. Union position with SEIU Local 2; benefits include medical and dental coverage and paid time off.

Qualifications

• 1+ years’ experience in shipping/receiving.
• 1+ years’ experience in food service.
• WHMIS and Food Safe certification preferred; First Aid an asset.

Responsibilities

• Receive products ensuring labeling, packaging, and temperatures are correct.
• Clean and maintain kitchen areas per cleaning schedule.
• Stock shelves, refrigerators and stations.
• Replenish, rotate and dispose of food per HACCP.
• Assist other locations as required.
• Accountable for maintaining a culture focused on safety.
