Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in Thornhill, Ontario, is seeking a Dining Room Supervisor to lead dining operations for our residents, reporting to the Culinary Manager.

You will supervise staff, ensure service quality and consistency with The Main Course standards and corporate policies, and coordinate shifts.

The role requires Safe Serve (Ontario), strong English communication, and at least three years of fine dining service experience in hotels or restaurants.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized course in Food & Beverage/Hospitality.
• Completion of courses in service management, guest relations, service excellence or HR.
• Safe Serve (Ontario) certification or equivalent.
• Minimum of three years' experience in hotel or restaurant fine dining service.
• Ability to manage staff and resources.
• Excellent English written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises dining room activities to provide high-level service to residents.
• Ensures shift routines are current and service delivery aligns with standards and corporate policies.
• Recruitment, orientation, scheduling, and leaves for dining room staff.
• Provides job analysis and role definitions for dietary personnel within scope of practice.
• Coaches, redirects, and evaluates dining room staff performance to maximize productivity.
• Upholds ethics, integrity, and resident-centered care while addressing staff and resident needs.
