Job summary

BBA is seeking a Digital Power Systems Engineer to carry out IEC 61850 based digital power projects across Canada. The role includes leading projects and proposals, designing protection diagrams, and configuring HMI/SCADA systems.

The position involves travel to client sites nationwide, collaborating with bilingual teams, and testing/commissioning digital power systems in our lab facilities.

Qualifications

• University degree in engineering.
• Five years of experience or more in the power systems sector.
• Advanced level of French and English to collaborate with offices/clients.
• Willingness to travel to BBA offices across Canada.
• Knowledge of IEC 61850 and protection relays.

Responsibilities

• Carry out engineering projects based on IEC 61850 standards for digital power systems.
• Play project leader and proposal leader roles.
• Prepare competitive and value-added proposals.
• Design protection diagrams (logic and control diagrams).
• Design substation HMI/SCADA architecture and configuration.
• Configure smart electronic devices (relays, substation controllers, etc.).
• Direct testing at BBA’s digital power systems lab.
• Commission digital power systems.
