Job description

Role: Digital Architect - Senior
Location: Edmonton Alberta (Remote)
Duration: 06 Months Contract With possible extension.

Must Have:

• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional agile product teams, providing architectural direction, and mentoring developers and technical leads. 5 years
• Experience as a data architect, software architect, or senior data engineer, where the proposed resource’s focus has been collaborative work on and/or with cross-functional teams to create new software applications 8 years
• Experience in leading solution architecture and introducing the overall technical vision for a large-scale Enterprise project with integrations between systems. 5 years
• Experience leading domain modelling and database schema design for transactional and reporting systems. 4 years
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making. 5 years

Nice to Have:

• Experience aligning data architecture with organizational data strategies and digital service delivery goals. 3 years
• Experience applying data governance principles to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance in data product delivery. 3 years
• Experience applying secure development practices and managing identity and access using role-based or attribute-based access control and Zero Trust Architecture principle. 4 years
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to embed data interoperability and standardization practices into product development workflows. 2 years
• Experience incrementally transforming existing legacy systems into modern digital services across multiple releases. 5 years
• Experience with containerization, orchestration, and infrastructure-as-code practices for cloud or hybrid environments 2 years
• Experience working within an organization equivalent in size and complexity to the Government of Alberta. 2 years
• Experience working with both relational and non-relational databases, including schema design and performance optimization. 5 years
• Experience working within public sector digital service frameworks or enterprise architecture standards. 2 years
• Experience working as an architect using data analytics tools and methodologies to derive insights from data 4 years
