Job summary

Kits Care Staff Solution Ltd. is hiring a part-time Dietary Aide for Sidney Care Home in Sidney, BC. The role supports kitchen operations, assists with meal preparation, and ensures residents receive meals safely and on time.

The ideal candidate holds a Grade 10 education, a valid Food Safe Handling Level 1 certificate, and proof of vaccination. Strong communication, time management, and a caring attitude are essential to join our supportive team.

Qualifications

• Secondary education (Grade 10) is required.
• Food Safe Handling Certificate Level One is required.
• Proof of vaccination is required.
• Good written and verbal communication is required.
• Demonstrates good time management.
• Flexibility and ability to work independently.
• Physically and mentally able to perform duties.
• Caring and considerate attitude toward residents, visitors and staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean and organized kitchen and storage area.
• Assist the Chef/Cook to ensure meals and snacks are prepared and served on time.
• Assist with portion sizes considering likes, dislikes and allergies.
• Maintain a log for fat trap maintenance and emptying.
• Ensure a safe, clean, and secure environment in kitchen and dining areas for staff, residents and visitors.
• Attend Infection Control meetings approximately every two months.

About Sidney Care Home

Sidney Care is located on Vancouver Island in sunny Sidney, BC and offers residential care to 54 clients. Sidney Care has been in operation for many years and provides a home like environment to its residents. The facility was recently renovated and is tastefully decorated. Sidney Care works in collaboration with the Vancouver Island Health Authority, to ensure quality care to all of our clients.

What You’ll Do

• Maintains a safe, clean and organized kitchen and storage area
• Supports the Chef/Cook in the kitchen, so it runs to time with having snacks and meals prepared ready to serve
• Helps direct portions sizes are appropriated and requested taking into consideration likes, dislikes and allergies
• Maintains a log for the fat trap maintenance and emptying
• Ensures a safe, clean and secure environment in the kitchen and dining room for staff, residents and visitors
• Attends Infection Control meetings once every two months

What You Bring

• Graduate of secondary education (Grade 10)
